Overview
The trek to the Nepal side of Kanchenjunga is unquestionably one of the most rewarding experiences in the entire Himalaya for those who are willing to invest the necessary time and effort. Straddling the border with Sikkim in the remote northeastern corner of Nepal, the Kanchenjunga massif is the third-highest peak on Earth and one of the most fearsome of the fourteen eight-thousand-meter summits in the world, along with K2 in Pakistan. steep and narrow trails , magnificent forests, utterly breathtaking mountain vistas , few settlements and a real sense of wilderness characterize this corner of Nepal.The majority of trekking routes visit both the North and South Base Camps, providing a comprehensive view of Kanchenjunga's massive north face, enormous glaciers, and striking icefalls. While the South Base Camp (Oktang) is renowned for its breathtaking glacier beauty and surrounding peaks, the North Base Camp (Pangpema) offers breathtaking close-up views of the mountain.
